For the benefit of junior cricketers to help with coaching and travel expenses etc. (e.g. for The Pathways to Cricket Excellence Winter Coaching Scheme).

Funded by York Wanderers Cricket Club and administered by York and Scarborough Area Cricket Council.

The first recipient of a grant from the YWF was Adam Lyth, who reaped the rewards of a tremendous 2008 season at The Yorkshire County Cricket Club. The 21-year-old Whitby born left-hander played 14 LV County Championship matches this season scoring 645 runs, including a maiden century. He also represented Yorkshire Carnegie in 16 one-day matches in 2008 and won the Young Player of the Year Award for his season's exploits.
