| The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to provide a vehicle for the recognition of individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the York Senior League and whose playing exploits or contribution to the League or to a particular League club, have made a strong and lasting impression.
Categories
- A. Club Stalwart
This new category was introduced in 2009 in order to recognise individuals who have:
- given loyal and active service to thier club over a lengthy period of time.
This award gives credit for service outside the parameters of the York Senior Leaague and thus allows members of the newer clubs to receive recognition for their efforts.

B. Outstanding Player
To be awarded to players who have either:-
- had outstanding careers over a lengthy period of time within the York Senior League, or
- produced a series of outstanding individual performances within the York Senior League
- C. Lifetime Achievement
To be awarded to individuals who have either:-
- played in the York Senior League for a lengthy period of time and shown dedication and a sportsmanlike attitude, or
- have served the York Senior League or a League club in an administrative capacity for a lengthy period of time
- D. League Legend
To be awarded to individuals who fail to meet the 'lifetime' criteria set out in 'B' and 'C' above but who have:-
- made a memorable impression during their briefer time within the York Senior League
