Studley Royal won the YDSCL Intermediate Final with a 3 wicket win over Sessay played on an excellent pitch prepared by groundsman Mick Kenyon of host Club Dringhouses. 

Sessay lost two early wickets, but half centuries for Jake Spencer and Chris Till saw them total a respectable 170-3 from their allotted 40 overs, with Ben Crewe (1-36 from 8 overs) and Matt Coad (0-12 in a miserly 8 over spell) were the pick of the Studley attack which bowled tight lines throughout the innings backed up by some excellent fielding.

Studley made a positive response and were always up with the required run rate and recorded a 3 wicket win after 37.1 overs with 15 year old wicket keeper batsman Scott Thompson (15no) hitting the winning boundary, bringing rapturous applause from his colleagues with a winning total of 174-7. The victory charge had earlier been set up by stylish half centuries from skipper Crewe (50 retired) and George Lamb (50 retired). Young left arm spinner Karl Carver (2-15) bowled well for Sessay whe were left to rue some dropped chances early in the Studley Royal innings.

League President George Myerscough (pictured left) presented the trophies at the end of the game whilst Competition Organiser Dick Ollett adjudged Studley Captain Ben Crewe as Man of the Match. He thanked both sides for an excellent sporting final and Dringhouses CC for doing an excellent job in hosting the game.
