CHAIRMAN´S REPORT

The 2008 season was another one in which many games were lost to the weather. We were no exception, having three games rained-off, and as a result of only winning three of the remaining five matches, we did not qualify for either of the two finals.

The highlight of the season was the excellent batting of opener Liam McKendry of Thirsk Cricket Club. He created a new record score for the competition when scoring 203 not out at Stillington, against Pontefract. He not only beat the previous best of 202 not out, but he also scored 146 against Scarborough, and 63 not out on his home ground against Leeds.

As usual all the players gained valuable experience for their future careers in the game, and we also continued to give a good account of ourselves in the competition, thanks to the guidance of manager/coach Kevin Ambrosen and his assistants.
