REPRESENTATIVE GAMES - 2008

After the disastrous season of 2007, the fortunes of the League’s representative sides improved beyond all recognition and culminated in an unprecedented finale which saw the League not only field two sides on 14^th September but actually win both games. In so doing, the York Senior League lifted both Nixon Yorkshire Leagues’ K.O. Trophy and the Leeds Area Cricket Council K.O. Trophy. Congratulations are extended to both captains, Andy Tute and Richard Medforth and Team Managers Richard Sykes and Stephen Carr.

The Nixon victory was a 116 run triumph over the Scarborough Beckett League in a replayed match following a rained off first attempt when our opponents had been in a good position. The final was a personal triumph for Danny White who took 6 for 18 to add to his 4 for 43 in the aborted game.

Adam Fisher’s unbeaten 48 was the decisive factor in the Leeds Area Council Final which was staged at Whitkirk in honour of the late Ralph Pritchard who was President of the host club and was an official of both the Yorkshire Cricket Association and the Leeds Area Cricket Council for many, many years.
