The York Senior League Joe Lumb XI made it three wins from three games when they defeated EYCA, last years Runners-Up, by 5 wickets, on Sunday, at Hornsea Cricket Club.

EYCA made a good start with opener Storey making a stylish 51. Grey(41) carried on the good work, but with York excelling in the field again, they were restricted to 206 all out. Harry Booth took 4wkts for 36 with a fine spell of 13 overs, Ben England took 3wkts for 38, and Jake Murphy’s two miserly spells were rewarded with only one wicket.

When York replied Harry Booth(40) completed a good day when he and Mike Hattee(40) figured in a match winning opening stand of 76. Skipper Chris Bilton(35) continued his good run of form, and Ben England(39no) hit the winning runs in the 48th over.

York’s next game is against the Airedale & Wharfedale League at Stillington Cricket Club on Sunday 21st June.
