The York Senior League Joe Lumb XI were again thwarted by the weather, when the game at Clifton Alliance, against leaders Bradford, was abandoned with the pitch waterlogged. In a game reduced to 33 overs per side, due to a delayed start, Bradford were 106 for the loss of 6 wkts, after 26 overs, when rain stopped play for the second time. Scott Douglas with 43 was going well until Ryan McKendry claimed his wicket in a fine spell of 2wkts for 22 in 7 overs. He was well supported by Jake Murphy, Tom Atkinson, and Ben England, who all took a wicket each. This result means that York are unable to qualify for the play-offs, even if they beat Sheffield in their last match at Sessay on Sunday. Norman Pearson |
