HUNTERS YORK SENIOR LEAGUE XI V CENTRAL YORKSHIRE LEAGUE
on Sunday July 5 at Carlton CC.

The Hunters York & District Senior League side earned the opportunity to retain the Leeds Area Cricket Council K O Trophy when they had a comfortable away victory in their semi final against the Central Yorkshire League at Carlton Cricket Club.

After being put into bat, the CYL made a sound start with D Winn 66 and T Suggitt 35 putting on 92 in 17 overs. York’s bowlers then claimed the initiative as Steve Precious and Richard Medforth only conceded 41 runs in their 14 overs. J Rudge with 40 struck some useful late blows to lift the home total to 205-8 in their 40 overs.

The York opening pairing of Liam McKendry (Thirsk) and Danny Hagan (Stamford Bridge) then reached 96 before Hagan was out for 46. Anthony Gibbins (Goole Town) continued the good work with 44 in 37 minutes and York powered to a 7 wicket win in 31 overs with Liam McKendry undefeated with 88.

York will now entertain either the South Yorkshire League or Nidderdale League in the final later in the season
